Calculating a Union Based on an Annual Maximum

OBJECTIVE

Used to calculate a union or local due based on a maximum number of annual hours that can be applied to several different unions.

 

This function applies to non-specific unions in Québec (other than the CCQ).

 

PREREQUISITE

 

Steps

The user must specify the unions or locals that belong to the master union for the system to be able to calculate union dues based on a maximum number of annual hours.

 

Master Union Management

  maestro* > Time Management > Maintenance > Payroll > Master Union Management

To configure master unions:

  1. Select the Master Union Management option.
  2. Create or select a master union code.
  3. Complete the Maximum number of hours per year field.
  4. Click Save.

 

Union Management

  maestro* > Time Management > Maintenance > Payroll > Union Management

This option is used to define the contributions and the calculation method to be used. For the system to be able to determine the contribution to a union or local, the contributions must be configured as follows:

To associate a union with a master union:

  1. Select the Union Management option.
  2. Create or select a union code.
  3. Complete the Master Union field.
  4. In the breakdown grid, select method 6 - Nbr. of hours * Hourly rate (Yearly maximum) or 7 - Rate / Hours (Yearly maximum) based on your requirements.
  5. Complete the information as needed.

 

The variable name must be identical for all locals or unions belonging to the master union so that the system can calculate the maximum number of hours.

  1. Click Save.
